Photo sessions can be a bit daunting, whether you’re bringing your baby to the studio or inviting me into your home, so let me tell you a bit about myself to ease the process.

My first and foremost concern is your family’s safety and happiness. I will do everything in my power to make you comfortable and at ease and I promise to only ever use flattering angles!

I am a proud South African, who has recently moved back from the UK after 9 years, where I married my British husband and had my two children. I’m VERY happy to say that we now have returned to sunny South Africa and stay in Scottburgh, KZN, however, I travel pretty much anywhere for a session.

Yes, I’m a creative, so I’m a little bit different. I have two young children (currently 5 and 7), so I always look tired. If you come for a studio session, you’ll almost always find me with a Monster energy drink in hand – try not to judge (two young children, after all!). If it’s a lifestyle session, guaranteed, the Monster is in the car.

We’re an ex-military family, so we truly value family time and appreciate how important your family is to you. I have a deep obsession with literature, from the classics to my favourite author, Stephen King. Although, my favourite novel is The Magus, by John Fowles. I like cheesy rock music and old school rock, although I pretty much enjoy all types of music.

In baby/newborn sessions, please feel free to tell me how you’re coping and you and your baby’s story. I found the early days with my two so difficult and I love to help support mums and, honestly, I love hearing your stories, so share away. Remember that these sessions are for you too, whether you’re in the photos or not. You’ll make memories, relax and have some peace knowing that someone qualified is helping you out today.

  • In the past, I have done every job under the sun before I found this profession that I adore – from entertainment and trade journalist through to nursery nurse!
  • I started photography because I had to do something I was passionate about. While I knew very little about it, I had always loved photography. We had hired a top photographer for our wedding (the only thing I was willing to spend money on) and her enjoyment and passion was addictive. She helped us make amazing memories on our big day. From that moment on, I wanted to delve more into my love of photography. I threw myself into learning everything, but I would never have expected to be where I am today.

Important things pertaining to my work:

    • I have a BA Journalism degree (including photojournalism) and a BA English Hons.
    • I have a heavy background in the corporate world, so am confident dealing with confidential situations and people of any stature (including having met and dealt with deputy presidents in my time)
    • I’m DBS Cleared
    • I am HEAVILY paediatric first-aid trained and safeguarding trained
    • I am a qualified childminder and, as mentioned above, an experienced nursery teacher.
    • I will come into your home/life with respect and kindness. Please treat me as furniture and/or a confidant. It’s all confidential and I am honoured that you’re trusting me with your images and your story.
    • I’m an open book, so ask me anything from questions about your session to questions about my life.
